aaron_silkFloyd Smith a.k.a Aaron Silk was born on January 10th 1969 in a quiet town of Downs in Manchester, Jamaica. A true “Napthali”, Aaron Silk has established a musical identity of his own. In earlier days , Aaron was an active member of the Bethabra Moravian Youth Fellowship where he sang on the choir. A truly gifted singer he also did several performances with the Jamaican Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) where he performed on Popular Festival Shows and local Fashion shows and dances. Aaron was then known as Floyd ( Garnet was a Dee Jay , known as Bimbo ). After the sacrifice of Garnet Silk not only did Floyd’s name change to Aaron ( a name given to him by Garnet) but his whole life changed to fulfill prophesies of his brother Garnet. He started his professional recording in 1995 when he did his first release ” Show I the Way ” composed by Garnet Silk himself. This was followed by ” Madda Fire ” and ” No Competition “. All of these songs were recorded by Talent Corporation label for producer Tommy Cowan. He then recorded ” Right Path “on the Flames production label for Tony Rebel. This song got excessive air play in Europe, America and the Caribbean holding number one position in Trinidad, Canada and Bermuda. He has performed in several countries namely New York , Trinidad , Bermuda and many others including his own country Jamaica where he has performed on Sting, Sumfest,  Rebel Salute and other major shows. He has also recorded with labels such as Penthouse Recording ( Donovan Germaine ) where he recorded “Bless Oh Jah” (included on the LP / CD Vibrations), Scorpio Recording ( Jack Scorpio ) and 321 Strong Recording.

Here it is his first project  entitled “Bless I Oh Jah” on the Culture Shock Label owned by Executive Producer Keith Simmonds and himself. This album is a masterpiece contains 13 songs dedicated to his late brother Garnet Silk which  the title ” Bless I Oh Jah ” was chosen from a particular song he wrote in tribute to the life of his brother, also solid songs such ” Babylon Falling “, ” Father Told Me “, ” See It Again “, ” Zion High “, ” Old Love ” and ” Place In Your Heart ” acoustic version, an original Garnet’s song .
